About the event

You may wonder what relevance the life and songs of an 11th century yogi have in the age of AI.

Quite a lot actually! Milarepa’s songs transcend time, place and culture. In an atmosphere of great sensitivity to the beauty of the natural world, the songs express heart breaking sorrow at human folly and, infused with compassion, penetrate to the heart of human suffering. Yet there is great joy. The joy of a free mind and heart to which Milarepa points;

‘It is certain that everyone will die.

Since no one remains and all pass away,

You must have confidence in attaining deathlessness.’
