What We Offer

We follow the tradition of offering Buddhist teachings free of charge as an act of generosity.

Some courses such as Mindfulness and Tara Rokpa Therapy may have a fee based on their own guidelines.

Donations to support the Centre are greatly appreciated, we rely on the generosity of visitors and supporters to sustain and expand our activities. There is no obligation to give.

Regular Practice

On a weekly basis we offer Meditation for Beginners, Mindfulness Drop-in sessions, Calm Abiding Meditation for those with experience and the Tibetan Buddhist practices of Chenrezig and Green Tara. See our What’s On page for more information.

No registration is required for any of these events—just come and join us.

Occasionally, these practices may need to be cancelled. Please always check our calendar before attending.

Study Group

A study group is meeting Thursdays from 7pm – 8.30pm. This is for people who want to seriously engage with the Buddha’s teachings, starting from the very foundation. At present we are still going through the Common Preliminaries or the Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind to the Dharma.

If you would like to join the group, please contact Ani Yonten. The main requirement is a commitment to attending regularly.

Courses

We organize courses on various Buddhist themes and topics, led by either external teachers or our Resident Nun. Additionally, we invite Lamas, Khenpos, and teachers from the Karma Kagyu Lineage, coming from Scotland, India, or Nepal etc. We facilitate courses in Tara Rokpa Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Living.

Currently, we are exploring ways to expand our course offerings.

Prayers and Dedications

If you know someone who has passed away, is dying, is ill, or is facing challenging life circumstances, we would be happy to include them in our list of dedications. This list is read out before our daily and weekly practices (Green Tara and Chenrezig). Any goodness and merit generated through these practices will be dedicated to the benefit of those in need.

To add someone to the list, please send us an email or speak to Ani Yonten at the Centre.

School Visits

Upon request, we offer an Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation for school groups of various ages. Please note that, due to limited space and facilities, we can accommodate a maximum of 35 students plus teachers.
